How do you interact with IBM’s products on a daily basis?
Mainly through the support of customers; i.e., using IBM products to solve their problems.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I am a Soccer referee so that keeps me both fit and busy.
Fun Fact: The picture above is Craig skiing at Mammoth.
What do you see as the hottest trends in technology today?
I think that we are about to experience the next wave of IT innovation and by this I mean the further use of containers (Docker) to make better use of the servers in our data centers.
How can an organization stay relevant 5 years from now?
Tough question as the change in IT happens so fast now but I would recommend embracing container technology and using agile methodologies.
What do you consider most promising in the era of cognitive computing?
Probably the use of AI technologies in mainstream monitoring applications.
What app can you not live without?
I'm 'old school', so there is no app that I cannot 'live' without, but I do like Facebook.
What was the worst job you ever had?
Given that I'm old school, the worst job I ever had was Mica'exing. I worked in the Computer Operations Dept. of a large bank and all the trainees had to start there. Basically it was testing the quality of the magnetic ink characters at the bottom of cheques, tedious to say the least.
You pull up to a coffee shop. What do you order?
Flat white and a blueberry muffin.
Most importantly... if you were a breakfast food, what kind would you be and why?
Steak, because I can be tough ;-)
We are thrilled to have Craig in the community, don't forget to connect with him here.
