How do you interact with IBM’s products on a daily basis?

I interact with IBM products primarily on behalf of our clients in a professional services capacity. We typically are designing, implementing and supporting our clients’ environments, which are primarily built on IBM products and solutions.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I have a young family, which keeps me busy! Also I like to ride my motorcycle at weekends.

What do you see as the hottest trends in technology today?

Disruption seems to be the hot topic right now. Everyone is trying to guess what the next one will be, and planning/hoping it won’t make their expertise redundant!

How can an organization stay relevant five years from now?

An organisation needs to listen to all the stakeholders, really listen and not just take in what they’d like to hear. Knowing when to stick and when to twist is the most important decision I think when it comes to staying relevant.

What do you consider most promising in the era of cognitive computing?

I consider cognitive chat-ops to be an exciting way to both leverage cognitive technologies while keeping the human operators both in the loop and engaged.

What app couldn’t you live without?

I’ve definitely become an avid user of Slack. I’m interested in bringing ChatOps into use in my daily work life, and I think Slack is probably the best vehicle for this.

What was the worst job you’ve ever had?

I spend 3 days working in a call center cold-calling people for product surveys. Ouch.

You pull up to a coffee shop. What do you order?

Skim flat white. Australian specialty.

Most importantly.... if you were a breakfast food, what kind would you be and why?

Bacon & eggs. A classic.
